Twitter is also used by many businesses, with a maximum word count of 140 characters per post you need to be creative but it is one of the largest social media platforms out there with millions of people using it. By hash-tagging correctly you can gain many followers and therefore more interest in your library. This is a good platform in which to share information about events, new books or really anything of interest.
To get started on Twitter: TwitterPinterest is all about pictures. But picture are great, they draw the eye and make you want to look at what the picture is about. For each pin, the picture you have links to the site or area of the internet that you 'borrowed' the picture from. A lot of libraries have book pins with a link to what that book is about. Only downfall to Pinterest is that is can be highly addictive.

Youtube is another social media platform that is growing. This is where you can upload videos that the public can view. People who like your channel can subscribe so that anytime you post a new video they will be able to view it. This is a great way to run tutorials for your library, record an event that has happened, give book reviews or even a tour of the library. People can be very visual and listening and watching a video much easier than reading a post.
